Most webcam networks have a 15 day billing cycle that means webcam performer earnings are balanced and paid twice per month. There are a few exceptions where the network billing cycle is monthly resulting in a monthly payment to models.
Where a network employs a 15 day payment cycle for performers and affiliates, it is common for the network to retain earnings until the following payment period is passed. Any earnings earned from the 1st to the 15th of the month will be paid after the following payment period (16th until the end of the month). Typically you should receive payment within 10 days following that time-frame.
Networks with a monthly billing cycle usually pay model commissions within 10 days following the end of the month.
Payment Methods
There are many ways to receive performer earnings from your webcam broadcast network(s). The most common methods of payment include visa debit card, wire transfer, and check.
Visa Debit Card
When you register as a cam performer, you will probably be asked if you want your earnings to be paid to your epassporte or payoneer visa card. These cards can be used anywhere in the world at any physical store that accepts visa. They can also be used at ATM machines to withdraw your funds and funds can be drawn anywhere in the world. Currency conversion occurs at the time of transaction.
Most networks will supply models with a free epassporte or payoneer account at the time of their first commission payment. If payment directly into a plastic card is a convenient way to recieve your funds, then you'll need to ensure that you select that payment option during registration (or update later if you prefer).
Using a debit card service does incur fees. The card may well be supplied for free, but there will be future charges against the card for renewal each subsequent year, and for every transaction. Be sure to read the terms and fee structure before choosing this method.
Overall, we have found epassporte to be a convenient and affordable way to accumulate earnings and draw down funds whenever we need them. The fees are not large providing you use minimal transactions. To minimize fees, we prefer to always withdraw cash to the maximum limit so that no further withdrawals are required for a while. That saves the per transaction fees that would otherwise end up being substantial for continued cash withdrawals. However, the fees for any purchase using the card are considerably less and quite affordable.
Check (cheque)
To choose check as a payment option you need to be flexible when it comes to the time span of your mail delivery. Webcam networks have been established in different countries and the origin of your check may not be from the same country where you reside. Checks from AWE come from Budapest, checks from PussyCash (on our blacklist) come from Turkey.
If you choose check as your payment option, please allow several weeks for payment to arrive in your mail. In fact we have seen instances where checks posted 15 days apart have arrived on the same day. So if you don't receive your check in the mail when expected, then wait a little longer. Receiving the subsequent commission payment before receiving a previous payment is not a common occurrence but my happen when one mail bag takes a different route to your country or to your local post office. When waiting for checks, you must be patient.
Some banks will not cash a foreign check without a business account. Enquire of your bank to ensure you can cash the check once received.
Bank fees for cashing international checks are usually quite small. However, there is usually a significant difference between the cash rate and check rate for foreign exchange. Cashing a check at the bank will typically cost you more than a withdrawal of the same amount at the ATM using an epassporte visa card. That's because the cash out at the ATM is based on the cash rate when the currency is converted to your local currency.
Epassporte therefore has a favorable exchange rate when compared to check payments.
Wire Transfer
Successful webcam performers will want to have their funds sent directly to their bank account. That is done with wire transfer.
There is a set fee for wire transfer (usually $35). Regardless of how much you earn, the fee to receive your earnings will be quite minimal providing you have sufficient earnings. When starting out your career as a cam model, it is unlikely that you'll select wire transfer as a payment option because your earnings for the first few weeks will be small (about a typical wage) because you haven't been online long enough for all the regular high-rollers to find you. Once you've developed a reputation, and masterd the skill of 'teasing', only then will you see how massive the earnings can be. Wire transfer at that point will be necessary!
Our Recommendation
Epassporte! It is the most widely used payment service that networks use to pay webcam performers and cam affiliates. The cards will be accepted at ATM around the world and the fees are not excessive.
Choose epassporte during the model registration process or enquire of your broadcast network about the free card. |
