Every webcam performer wants to earn big and be a top cam performer. But is it really that easy to become a top performer?

There are certain things that drive visitors to return to specific performers over and over again, day after day for weeks and sometimes years. Understanding what makes the top performers so highly prized will reveal valuable insights that empower you to provide stimulating and arousing shows  that members just cannot resist. Lets discuss a few of the more important factors that contribute to the success of a webcam performer.


Personality

It doesn't matter what your personality is, so long as you have one.

What we mean by that statement is that the same characteristics that attract people to you in real life will also attract members to you in live sex chatrooms. The difference is that in life your personality flows naturally. In a chatroom it is easy to become somebody that we're not. For best results, just be yourself, relax, and enjoy the experience.

If you are soft and gentle, show that you are soft and gentle in your chatroom. Those members who appreciate your soft and gentle side will come back to you repeatedly.

If you're a bit of a hard nut who takes no shit from anybody, be that person in chat. Those who like a partner whithout all the fluff will enjoy your shows and come back again and again.

If you would best describe yourself as a skank and proud of it, be as slutty as you wish on cam (of course always observing the rules of the network - no nudity in public chat). Members and guests out for a quick bang for their buck will gravitate to your personality type.

Whatever personality you have, use it to your advantage.

Enjoyment

Enjoying the experience is vital to your success. Enjoyment shows on the face and can enhance the experience for members if they see a happy, engaging and interesting personality that they are chatting with.

Do what you enjoy.
If you like dancing, great. Dance in front of the cam. Lure them in with your sexy moves.
If you like to sing, have music playing lightly in the background and sing along to it. Turn on the sound function of your web camera so that members can hear your voice. Hearing your voice heightens the experience for most members. Especially when in private chat as they'll really get turned on hearing you breathe, talk, and any other sounds that come during an intimate encounter - you know what I mean.

Interact

Be interactive. There are too many models online that just wait in front of the camera, almost lifeless. Sure they'll get some privates, but they'd get 10 times as many if they would just interact with their visitors.

Performing on cam is a job. You need to work it! That means paying attention to members and guests. Chat with them, greet them when they enter your room, ask them what special thing they would have you do, and soon they'll be checking their bank balance just to see if they can take you private, even if it is just for a few minutes to begin with.

Remember that every paying member was once a guest. If you keep that in mind, you'll realize that everyone in your chatroom is a potential source of income. Not just the members.

Free Chat

For some cam networks the commission is higher if you enter private from free chat instead of the members area. This is to entice models to work in an area that can sometimes be quite degrading.

Freechat draws visitors from all over the web. Many are willing participants but new to the cam scene. These people are likely to convert to paid membership through a private session. If they don't immediately make a purchase, then they may do so at a later date. It is common for them to bookmark your page and always return to the site through your chat page. Being available in free chat is important for long term sales and to recruit new members for the network. If you are always in members only chat then those visitors that bookmarked your page will never see you again, and you will lose any potential sale that may have occurred. In fact, a visitors may make their first purchase months after their first visit to the site.

It is well known that performers choose to spend most of their time in members only chat because too many casual browsers will visit and use up bandwidth. But mostly free chat is avoided by some because it is the area where the abusers are. As a performer, you'll constantly hear/see requests to 'show ass', or something similar. When you don't comply (some do but that would be breaking the terms of your agreement with the network) that type of visitor can get frustrated and abusive. You have the ability to dump them from your room if need be. That type of visitor seldom becomes a member and even less will pay for anything. DOn't be fooled into believing a quick preview will make them go private with you. Its just a ploy to get a free perv.

Most importantly, with regard to free chat, is that long term members don't always login immediately when they arrive at the site. So many of those guests you are chatting to are in fact members. It literally pays to treat your guests as good as you treat your members.

Performing in free chat is important and will build long term clients and additional sales.
